I cannot express my full excitement when I saw this piece. It was a literal answer to a prayer long forgotten. I've long delt with chronic illness and had a very large blank living room wall. I do small art myself, but couldn't bring myself to do something big enough to fill it. One day I saw a testimony of someone who said when she was sick and did not have the energy to go pick out decorations, she prayed that God would help her find something to fill the wall. The next day she ran into someone who had a painting beside their truck of one of her favorite places and they sold it to her. I'm bad about trusting God with the small things, but I asked, God, would you help me find art for my wall? Months passed, and I had forgotten until I saw this piece. A verse He has used as a reminder of promise, John 1:16, written across the very picture of my safe place that I often visualize in prayer to sit with Jesus in the darkest times of my life. A beautiful bay garden with a reminder of my fullness in His grace. So grateful for Joy, her gift, and how she paints truly from the heart and with Holy Spirit.
I ordered Joy's "Come As You Are" art without the frame and framed it on my own. It's hanging over my buffet in my dining room and it looks beautiful! Every Wednesday night my husband and I host a Bible Study and we all have dinner together in our dining room before we get started.
